The Gold Potential

Capitalizing On An Untapped Gold Frontier

Click to enlargeToday, Guyana is poised to become the next frontier in gold exploration.

Nestled on the South American coastline between Venezuela and Brazil, Guyana’s Puruni gold region is located in the Amazon Craton which broke from the West African Craton during the opening of the Atlantic Ocean, and shares many of its geological trends. Today, the West African Craton is one of the world’s largest gold producers.

Meanwhile, Guyana remains largely untapped, having only recently opened itself to foreign exploration.

A Golden Era For Exploration In Guyana

In 2004, responding to the vast opportunity presented by its substantial gold reserves, Guyana revised its mining policies and enacted a Land Tenure Act to attract foreign investment and exploration.

Today, this democratically styled, English-speaking parliamentary nation offers a stable and welcoming environment that is attracting significant exploration, and has produced substantial finds including Mahdia’s Omai Deposit and Guyana Goldfield’s Aurora Deposit.
